Along the Oregon coast line you can find many beautiful places to stop. If you are looking for a beautiful beach town with a bit of exploration, you should head to Pacific City.

I stop at Pacific City for the day at the end of April, so it was still a bit chilly outside. Regardless, there were still surfers, beach goers and gorgeous ocean life. If you set your GPS for Pelican Pub and Brewery you can park in the lot for free. I also recommend eating here because their food is delicious!

When you park head right to the beach, because that is what you are there for. The view is beautiful and the ocean seems to go on forever.

If you make your way along the water’s edge and toward the rocky cliff side, you can find lots of rocks to climb and tide pools filled with life.

If you are adventurous enough to explore, you may make a friend with a sea creature or two.

Don’t skip out on the caves or places that may be hard to reach. You never know what you may find.

If you have the endurance to climb the dunes, head on up for a spectacular view. And if you don’t feel like you have the endurance, just take your time and head up nice and slow- you can enjoy the view as you go.

The views from the top of the dunes are amazing.

You may even makes some friends along the way. (Pro-Tip: ALWAYS ask an artist if you can take a photo of them while they are painting, before you take the photos. While I was in Paris I watched an artist all by yell at a man because the man took a photo of him while he was painting.)

It may be 50 degrees out when you go, or maybe you waited till summer….regardless, Pacific City is perfect for a day at the beach.
